In 1980, Wayne Nichols started Nichols Construction with a simple philosophy: work hard, treat people right, and never cut corners on quality. As word spread throughout Bartow County, Wayne earned a reputation for craftsmanship, honesty, and doing exactly what he promised.
Not long after, Wayne needed a storage building of his own.
Instead of buying one, he built it.
What happened next changed everything.
Neighbors began stopping by to ask where he got it. When they learned Wayne had built it himself, they wanted one too. Before long, what started as a single building in Wayne’s backyard had grown into Nichols Portable Buildings.
Throughout the 1980s, Wayne poured countless hours into refining his designs. He wasn’t interested in building the cheapest portable buildings—he wanted to build the best. Every new model was carefully engineered with durability, functionality, and long-term value in mind.
As the economy grew in the late 1980s, so did the demand for quality portable buildings. What had started as a side project quickly became the company’s primary focus, and Nichols Portable Buildings continued to expand while staying true to the principles it was founded on.
Today, more than 40 years later, Nichols Portable Buildings has become a landmark in Bartow County and throughout Northwest Georgia. Generations of homeowners, businesses, farmers, churches, and families have trusted us for buildings that are made to last—not just for a few years, but for decades.
